It is what I can only describe as a pink WIP (Work In Progress) Wednesday today. Lots of yummy, scrummy pretty pink yarn is being knitted and crocheted at the moment. I thought it was just me who had been lured into the sweet and sugary world of pink. I do tend to find myself going through phases of certain colours with yarn, I will suddenly realise that I have lots of blue yarns on my wish list (or even in my stash) or pink as the case seems to be of late. Do you ever find this? Has a colour phase taken over your stash?
Lesley is knitting a hooded baby blanket in James C Brett Flutterby - pink. Flutterby, knitted in this fondant like shade reminds me of icing or a squishy marshmallow. This will be the perfect blanket to wrap a baby girl all cosy and warm.
Sara is crocheting blankets as Christmas gifts for her daughters in Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino. The shades of pinks and purples look so fresh and pretty lying side by side. This is blanket number one (part way through). Keep an eye out here on the blog to see Sara’s progress with the blankets.
I have been busy (for a while now) knitting a sweater in Rowan All Seasons Cotton. This is a pattern from Kim Hargreaves ‘Whisper’ book. I fell in love with this design when I first saw it on the cover of the book. I must say, I do get tempted quite easily with many of Kim Hargreaves designs. When I saw a marshmallow esq shade of pink, I knew this was the sweater for me. I have now completed the front, back and one sleeve. I do hope to be wearing it very soon.
I will be sure to share finished photos when everyone has completed their pink projects. If you have any projects on the go at the moment please share photos on Twitter #WIPWednesday.
